Xiaomi Mi 5: New leaked teaser reveals fingerprint scanner, reads ‘Are you ready’

Xiaomi’s upcoming Mi5 has been in news for quite a while now. Now, a brand new teaser image has surfaced showing the number 5 together with the words, “Are you prepared”. The image also validates that the next Xiaomi flagship will feature a fingerprint scanner, reports Techzoom.

Nevertheless, there’s no word on the availability or launch details yet. So, until the official invites are out, we will have to wait. Some reports have been pointing at November release, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the business sponsor an occasion anytime soon.

There have been. A previous report had hinted at a fingerprint scanner named Perception ID. This sensor is said to work on ultrasound technology instead of on optical which is seen in the present fingerprint detectors.

The report also suggests at a 5.3-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixels of resolution, and pixel density that goes up to 554ppi, instead of the previously rumoured 5.5-inch screen. Nonetheless, it was reported that due to heat issues in the 810, it preferred going with the 820. But since the Qualcomm 820 will not be ready in time for generation, they are now said to have switched back to Mediatek.

The chipset probably will be coupled with 4GB of RAM and 16/64GB internal storage. A 3,030mAh battery is anticipated to power the apparatus, marginally lower than lower than the 3,080mAh battery seen on its forerunner. On the camera front, one can expect a 16MP back snapper plus a 6MP front -facing camera for selfie lovers.

Lately released benchmark scores show the Mi 5 to have scored 73,075 points.

There’s the bigger variant, the alleged Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus, which is believed to feature a 6-inch 2K screen as well as a practically bezel-less display.

For the time being, lets choose the specs with a touch of salt.
